DIGO helps Memorial-Sloan Kettering harness the power of an integrated campaign built to increase the power of social media to reach and support those who have just been diagnosed with cancer.

In a category whose conventions are “doctor as hero” or “hospital as hero,” Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center chose to embrace the patient as hero (after all, if the patient isn’t the most courageous and important person in these situations, who is?) and as the best possible witness to the excellence of Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s care.

We gave the cancer patients, survivors and the people who love them a format, a stage, and a medium for expressing their relationship to cancer directly and honestly.

As part of our social outreach, DIGO helped Memorial Sloan-Kettering set up a Facebook page for the “Talk Back to Cancer” campaign. The goal was to provide a forum for people to express their feelings about cancer. Since almost everyone has been touched by cancer in their social or family circle, almost everyone can help by posting comments, pictures or using the graffiti tool.

Please help us: share the page with your friends and loved ones. Thank you!
